Vibratory
Point Level Sensor is
Universal for Bulk Solids!
Elburn,
IL. —VibraRod® vibrating point level
sensor is a universal solution for dry, free-flowing powders
and bulk solids having a density greater than 3.12 lb/ft3
(50 kg/m3) and a maximum particle size of 3/8 in. (10 mm).
The VibraRod is easy to install, plug-in-place, requires
no calibration and is not affected by changing process
conditions or material composition.
The
single vibrating probe design makes the sensor universal
in application by eliminating the material bridging and build-up
problems associated with dual prong “tuning fork” devices.
VibraRod
level sensors provide a universal power supply, which can
be either a low or high voltage design. The high voltage
option accepts 85-265 VAC and 120-375 VDC input power, while
the low voltage unit is compatible with 16-40 VAC or 19-55
VCD.
VibraRod
point level probes are universal in application and are offered
in a standard length that extends approximately 9 in. (235
mm) into the vessel. A pipe extended version can come in
lengths up to 118 in. (3 m), and a cable extended option
can be used for a probe length of up to 65 ft. (20 m).
All
units are provided with a relay output for indication of
material presence that can be connected to any control device.
Additional features include a selectable fail-safe mode and
an externally visible bi-color LED.

SiloPatrol® Inventory
Management System
Delivers High Value and Superior Functionality!
Elburn,
IL. —The SiloPatrol® Inventory Management
System is a field-proven method of providing PC-based inventory
management & control and/or supplier managed inventory
solutions. The SiloPatrol System delivers cost-effective
solutions for a wide range of powders, granular solids, liquids
and foodstuffs. SiloPatrol is a reliable means of collecting
and centralizing bulk storage inventory data at any convenient
on-site or remote location(s). This can be used to bring
together multiple plants and corporate locations, or customers
and suppliers.
The
SiloPatrol System eliminates man-hours needed for making periodic
checks of vessel contents. The ability to continually monitor
and respond to the measurement data using a simple graphical
format via PC eliminates costs associated with overfilling
and running out of material.
SiloPatrol
increases profits by better matching incoming material shipments
to actual demand. You always know exactly how much material
is needed, and when to schedule delivery. You can save even
more money by shifting the responsibility for basic inventory
management to your suppliers by allowing them remote access
to the system data.
The
SiloPatrol System uses the low cost and state-of-the-art SMU
sensor. This sensor is virtually maintenance-free and requires
no field adjustments. The primary user interface is SiloTrack™ Version
3.0, a high value multiple user inventory management software
package for PC’s. In addition, Auxiliary Output Enclosures
and Remote Display Units can be added to create a true management
and control network.
SiloPatrol
can further increase value by use of its wireless communication
interface with the SMU smart sensors. This can save you money
on installation and provides reliable long-range communications
to the system PC.
The
SiloPatrol System provides a flexible graphical interface where
you can establish set-points and alarm levels on each vessel.
You can have vital information sent automatically via fax,
e-mail or pager whenever critical material levels are sensed.
Standard reports for measurements and sensor diagnostics can
also be sent via e-mail or fax. Management and/or suppliers
can automatically receive reports at scheduled times.

The TrueCap® Model MK-2
RF Capacitance point level probe is designed to provide a superior
and stable sensitivity threshold making it suitable for a variety
of powder / bulk solids and some liquid or slurry applications.
Advanced features of the Model MK-2 include: > Automatic immunity to material build-up on
the probe by its driven shield design > Push-button calibration > Enhanced temperature compensation > Maximized reliability via smart sensing algorithms
like “self-validating” fail-safe protection > Visible status LED on ordinary location units > Versatility through a variety of configuration
options including: hazardous location version, split architecture
design, quick-connect process connection, stub probe, cable extensions,
solid extensions, Nylon® probes, Ryton® - equiv. probes,
etc.
A practical application for the TrueCap would be to use this level sensor where
a residual material build-up on a different sensor would cause a false material
level indication.
Principle of Operation for the TrueCap RF Capacitance Level
Probe:
The vessel wall and the active probe element establish an impedance reference
between each other when exposed to air which has a dielectric constant of 1.
When materials with a dielectric constant greater than 1 are in close proximity
to the probe, the impedance of the sensing field between the sensor and the vessel
wall will change. Once the amount of change exceeds a threshold that was electronically
determined during the calibration process, an output relay will either be energized
or de-energized depending upon the position of the fail-safe selector on the
probe’s electronic circuit board. A change of as little as .5 pico-farad
is all that is necessary for the probe to sense the presence of material.
