Monitor Technologies LLC is pleased to announce the availability of its Model SFD-2/SFI solids flow detector line complete with CE Mark for use in ordinary locations within all European Community areas. The Model SFD-2/SFI uses microwave Doppler-radar technology to continuously monitor the flow and no-flow condition of powders in pipelines and chutes. The product is completely solid state with no moving parts. The Model SFD-2 provides relay output and the Model SFI provides an analog output in response to the flow or no-flow condition.
All sensor and power supply electronics are designed and certified to meet CE Mark requirements for use in the EU. Applications for the SFD-2/SFI solids flow detectors include coal flow in coal fired power generating plants, feed ingredient flow into the pelletizing operation within feed mills and much more. Using microwave technology the sensor can be mounted in applications where non-metallic pipeline or chute is used so that material does not come in contact with the sensor head. If a metal pipeline or chute is used to contain the material the SFD-2/SFI sensor is mounted so that it is non-invasive.
Monitor Technologies LLC is a pioneer in level measurement and monitoring instrumentation, as well as a leading supplier of flow and particle emission instrumentation for the worldwide powder and bulk solids market. The
SafePoint rotary paddle level switch with a self-validating design
detects material presence plus continuously monitors its own ability
to function. The analysis includes sensor health and system power
failure, which makes the SafePoint truly “fail-safe”.
The SafePoint incorporates patented use of Hall-Effect technology,
dual outputs to indicate both material presence and unit health,
and microcontroller technology to continuously protect bulk solids
processing and storage from the consequences of unknown sensor
failure by providing immediate indication of a sensor failure
and confirmation of proper operation.
Other practical features of the SafePoint include rugged construction,
motor shut-off when paddle becomes impeded to maximize motor life, twist On/Off
cover for bolt free removal, and local status indicating light (except hazardous
location models)
A practical application for the SafePoint would be to use this "true"
fail-safe product if undetected sensor failure could result in a
catastrophic process problem.
