Technology with Broken Bag Detectors
Elburn,
IL. — Monitor Technologies’ DustAlarm“ Broken
Bag Detector uses time proven triboelectric technology
to provide economical dust monitoring. It can be used for
broken bag and leaking filter detection in bag houses,
cartridge collectors, cyclones, or any other dust collector.
Dust
particle collisions with the DustAlarm’s stainless
steel probe generate an electric signal. The electronics
continuously monitor for this signal, and then provide an
alarm output to indicate changes in filter condition. The
DustAlarm lets you know when to replace filters, and protects
blowers from damage.
DustAlarm
is designed to minimize false signals that could occur during
normal operations and cleaning cycles. The electronics include
sensitivity, alarm level and time delay adjustments. A multi-colored
LED within the electronics simplifies set-up and provides
local indication of an alarm state.
A
rugged NEMA 4 housing delivers optimal protection for the
DustAlarm electronics, as well as easy access to all adjustments.
Plug-in terminal blocks and cable glands simplify wiring
and commissioning. The electronics can be integrally mounted
to the DustAlarm’s stainless steel probe, or remote
mounted, as an option for high temperature applications.
The probe has a specially designed insulator to prevent false
signals due to product build-up. A quick disconnect mounting
coupling furnishes easy installation and removal for maintenance,
should cleaning ever be required.
Monitor’s
DustAlarm saves you money by eliminating unscheduled down
time for filter bag replacement. DustAlarm also helps to
comply with the Clean Air Act and other federal regulations
by allowing dust to be reclaimed prior to being released
to the environment.
DustAlarm
delivers reliable operation for a wide range of powders and
bulk solids, as well as the versatility to meet the needs
of a variety of industries.
Elburn,
IL. — Monitor Technologies’ SafePoint™ Rotary
Paddle Level Indicator is a “TRUE” failsafe point
level indicator that provides economic and reliable point
level measurement for dry bulk materials stored in bins,
hoppers, silos and tanks. State-of-the-art features and rugged
construction make SafePoint the most durable and technician-friendly
rotary paddle sensor available today.
SafePoint
utilizes Monitor’s patented magnetic sensor technology
to continuously detect both material presence and operational
status. Magnetic sensing is simple, and eliminates problems
that may occur with fouling of the optical systems of other
brands. SafePoint electronics include a microcontroller that
monitors shaft and mounting plate rotation, and that performs
self-diagnostics for reliable and consistent operation. Separate
outputs are available for material sense and fault conditions,
making SafePoint a “truly” fail-safe device.
SafePoint
automatically shuts off the drive motor when the paddle is
in a stalled condition due to material presence. The motor
is reactivated when material level drops. This feature greatly
extends motor life.
SafePoint
also has a unique housing design with a twist on/off cover
for easy access, and two conduit entrances for easy wiring.
Versions are available for installation in ordinary or hazardous
locations. Local indication of material presence and operational
status is provided on SafePoint units suitable for installation
in ordinary locations. There is even a SafePoint option for
high temperature service (up to 750o F/300o C).
A
wide range of features, options and accessories provide unmatched
versatility for the SafePoint Rotary Paddle Level Indicator
to make it compatible with a host of applications, for a variety
of industries.
The
SafePoint rotary paddle level switch with a self-validating design
detects material presence plus continuously monitors its own ability
to function. The analysis includes sensor health and system power
failure, which makes the SafePoint truly “fail-safe”.
The SafePoint incorporates patented use of Hall-Effect technology,
dual outputs to indicate both material presence and unit health,
and microcontroller technology to continuously protect bulk solids
processing and storage from the consequences of unknown sensor
failure by providing immediate indication of a sensor failure
and confirmation of proper operation.
Other practical features of the SafePoint include rugged construction,
motor shut-off when paddle becomes impeded to maximize motor life, twist On/Off
cover for bolt free removal, and local status indicating light (except hazardous
location models)
A practical application for the SafePoint would be to use this "true"
fail-safe product if undetected sensor failure could result in a
catastrophic process problem.
